Automatic gripper detection

In this robot cell from KV-Techniek B.V., our WWR tool changer is used to automatically switch between grippers. The 3D camera from Euclid Labs - We lead Robots determines what type of product is involved. The ABB Robotics robot then uses this data to automatically select the correct gripper and switch to it. The internal media feedthroughs of our tool changers are suitable for both compressed air and vacuum and thus form the mechanical link in an intelligent system in which image processing, software and handling come together.
